For Canadians paying out of pocket

Affordable help, priced before you commit

Say what kind of case you have, how serious it is and the fee you can pay. We suggest the documents to prepare and match you with lawyers, paralegals and immigration consultants who fit — including unbundled advice for a fixed price instead of full representation.

Get fee quotes

For lawyers and paralegals

Empanel your practice and quote your own fees

Licensed Canadian counsel can join the panel, see briefs matched to their practice areas and province, and send a written quote — flat, hourly or contingency. No fee to answer a brief.

For immigrants, newcomers and anyone on a tight budget

Help that costs little — or nothing at all

Free first consults

Many panel members take a first call at no charge — ask your question before you pay a cent.

Legal aid accepted

Members who take legal aid certificates say so on their card, and every provincial legal aid program is listed for you.

Speak your language

Filter lawyers and paralegals by the languages they speak, so nothing gets lost in translation.

Pay only for what you need

Fixed-fee advice or document review — instead of full representation — can keep a simple file under a few hundred dollars.

Frequently asked questions

Questions Canadians ask us

What does Can Law Easy actually do?

It organises your legal matter: describe your issue in your own words, and the app builds a step-by-step checklist with deadlines, a timeline, a document vault and status tracking for your case file.

How do I start?

Tap "Describe your issue" and write what happened — a few rough words are enough, in any language. You will get a checklist of steps and documents for your case type and province.

How do the fee quotes work?

Post a short request with your budget. Lawyers, paralegals and immigration consultants on the panel send a written quote — flat fee, hourly or contingency. You accept one, none, or keep shopping. Quotes come in writing before you pay anything.

Can I book and pay a lawyer through the app?

Yes. Lawyers who open consultation time show a live calendar. Pick a slot, pay online by card, and the booking and receipt appear in your account.

How do I know if I qualify for legal aid?

The "Do I qualify?" page walks you through the income rules for every provincial legal aid plan in a few taps, and the Free help directory lists each province's phone lines, websites and courthouse duty counsel.

Can the app write my documents?

It can help you draft. The Write my case page drafts court-style documents for your matter, and Draft contracts builds standard agreements from suggested clauses with fill-in-the-blank placeholders you complete. Both can be read aloud and printed.

Can I use it in French, or by voice?

Yes. Switch between English and French with the FR button, dictate your answers by voice, and have any case summary, checklist, library page or draft read aloud to you.

How do I keep track of deadlines?

Every case file shows a status line (preparing, filed, awaiting response, hearing, decided, closed), a progress tracker for your checklist, and the next date coming up — all in one place.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. Can Law Easy runs in any phone browser, uses large touch-friendly controls, and can be installed to your home screen like an app. Your case file follows you between phone and computer.

Where can I ask other questions?

Use the "Ask a question" page — it explains legal processes, documents and court steps in plain language, in any language, by typing or voice. It gives information only, never advice or opinions.

Can Law Easy provides general information and organisation tools, not legal advice. Works on any phone browser and installs to your home screen.
